About The Author

Daniel Rodriguez

Daniel Rodriguez is a storyteller whose greatest qualification is lived experience. Raised in some of New York City’s toughest neighborhoods, he spent his formative years navigating environments shaped by poverty, addiction, violence, and constant uncertainty. Those experiences would later become the foundation for the deeply personal narrative shared in Still Standing.

Growing up, Daniel witnessed firsthand how communities are affected by economic hardship and limited opportunities. He saw how quickly young people could be influenced by the streets and how easily survival instincts could replace childhood innocence. These realities gave him an understanding of life that cannot be learned from textbooks or secondhand accounts.

What distinguishes Daniel’s voice is his willingness to tell the truth, even when that truth is uncomfortable. He writes without excuses, judgment, or exaggeration. Instead, he reflects honestly on the experiences that shaped him and the lessons that emerged from them. His perspective allows readers to understand not only what happened, but also why certain choices seemed normal within the world he knew.

Through his writing, Daniel hopes to spark conversations about resilience, accountability, environment, and personal growth. He believes that sharing real stories can create understanding where assumptions often exist. Still Standing represents more than a memoir; it is an invitation to look beyond appearances and recognize the human experiences that exist beneath every struggle.
